MEET THE TEAM
Justine Louise Burgos
Founder and Executive Director
Justine founded Batang Henyo in 2018. She recently graduated from Ateneo de Manila University - School of Law. Now, as she waits to be officially admitted to the Bar, she has focused her attention on making sure poverty is not a hindrance to education, especially during this time when access to online learning, or the lack thereof, has underscored the stark disparity between the privileged and the less fortunate.
Dianne Shairmaine Abril, M.D
Child Health and Nutrition
Dianne is a pediatrician and a part-time professor in several medical schools. She is a graduate of the UERMMMC College of Medicine and had her residency training in pediatrics at Medical Center Manila - ManilaMed. As she furthers her medical practice, she strives to be what she learned a physician should be: a health-care provider, an educator, a social mobilizer, and a life-long learner.
Jose Perez III
Child Development Director
It is Jojo’s passion to teach children. He has a degree in Education major in Science, post grad units in Language and Literature, and is currently a MA student in Literary and Cultural Studies at Ateneo de Manila University. He worked in Tuloy Foundation, Inc. for 23 years and served as Teacher, Disciplinary Head, and eventually as Principal and Head of the Resource Management Group. And when he’s not working or studying, he enjoys teaching children in the neighborhood for free.
Marianne Galvez
Communications and Research
Marianne is taking her bachelor's degree in Sociology at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines where she actively serves as a student leader in her organizations. She advocates for quality education and good health and well-being.
